    Have you ever wondered why people are still holding on despite the obstacles they have to face every single day? How about you? Do you have a reason that keeps you going? Well, you will truly be mesmerized and touched as I introduce you to someone.  Someone with a profession that we see and know physically but the work they put in is not greatly valued and emphasized.

     We see women taking up jobs for their family. But why? We know that we all have reasons but is it for sacrifice? It has to do with something bigger than any expectations coming from the people seeing you work. Just like this woman, Jasmine Lago. Jasmine, a 47-year-old teacher in a public secondary school. Her learners wonder how she still shows up in school even after storming off. It’s like she truly has to be there for something, for someone. 

    In a family of eight, she was the breadwinner. Truly a breadwinner for she always buys bread for her family every morning to fill their tummies with good stuffs she cannot afford always. Every day, she wakes up early, prepare breakfast and wake her children up. It’s a cycle that makes her tired yet she shows no sign of giving up. Her husband does part-time jobs. He can only get the opportunity to earn more once he’s hired to do heavy job yet it’s still not enough to afford all his family’s necessities. 

   She has worked in different areas. Three years in an incorporated institution, 15 years in public institutions which helped her earn more during the times she has changed associations. Amazing, isn’t it? People probably wonder where she gets her energy knowing she has a lot of piled tasks to finish every single day. Being able to share this kind of energy she possesses is something she is truly proud to tell. A motto saying “it’s better to give positivity than materials with emptiness” makes her soul purer than people can ever imagine.

    Aside from her main priorities, she conveys such power to the people surrounding her reflecting a good personality she owns. Having a purpose to keep moving forward helps her understand why she has to actually step forward. Imparting knowledge and molding young learners is what she also aims. She wants her students—her other children to learn and become responsible citizens of the community. A purpose leading to a bright future not only for her but also for the ones with her. Such a selfless woman!

    Despite the difficulties and the challenges that she faces every day, she has to continue to provide what’s best for her loved ones. But isn’t she tired? Well, there are times that make her feel like giving up and losing hope, but does it affect her? No! She prays and surrenders everything to God because she believes that miracles do happen. She trusts God more than anything for she knows that He has a way for everything. For her, He sends people to help her get through any struggles, any pains, and any battles.

    Jasmine Lago, a mother, a wife, a teacher and a guide to her fellow loved ones. Jasmine, a woman who only wants to see her students and children to be successful someday as they journey in life. She really is inspiring, isn’t she? Well, Jasmine, a name sounding like a Disney princess but in real life, a queen who has the purest heart for everyone.
